This kid has future star written all over his goofy face.
Say hello to Steve Trout, an old school gangster (evident by those cool shades). Trouty was selected in the 1st round by the ChiSox back in 1976 and made his debut 2 seasons later in '78. He started off hot going 3-0 in his rookie campaign for the White Booties, but things when south from there on out. In '83 he was dealt to the Cubbies where he pitched the next 4.5 seasons until they traded him to the Yankees. Trout wasn't cut out for New York, so they sent him back across America to the West Coast where he played his final 2 seasons (1988-89) with the Seattle Mariners. Lifetime stats: 88-92, 301 g, 1501.3 ip, 656 k, 4.18 era, and 1.49 whip...not too good.

The Mets are now 30-32 on the season in 4th place in the NL East, which puts them 7.5 games back of my beloved Phils. They were supposed to dominate this season, but that's far from the case. Johan Santana is good, but not good enough to cure the Mets woes. Willie Randolph is under scrutiny, Carlos Delgado is getting booed, Billy Wagner continues to run his mouth, the offense isn't very potent. This is all a formula for the wheels falling off in New York and I'm loving it because I hate those bastards.
